A Fine Example of an Antique Trestle Table

Posted on February 10, 2020

Take a look at this beautiful 17th Century Trestle Farmhouse Table. This example enjoys a fabulous colour, is in flawless condition, and also included are two full-length trestle benches. A matching table and bench set is more unusual when searching for these quality furniture pieces.

If you have the space to accommodate this set, it will be a bold statement piece, at 3.7 metres in length. This table stands on three columns and has a thick rustic top. Very sturdy on its feet. The benches are equally appealing, with their simple tops standing on elegant trestle legs. This example is a unique dining set that will easily blend into the traditional or modern with ease and elegance.

Trestle Tables have been about for many Centuries, and the design is one of the oldest forms of dining tables. These are relatively simple as far as their structure with long boards placed over trestle legs. A common feature of older trestle tables is that they can be dismantled and tucked away when not in use. For homes or royal courts that needed flexible dining, these collapsible tables were the best option with their easy assembling and dismantling. More recent tables are built as a single unit that may not be so easily dismantled.

Trestle and farmhouse tables all come with a rustic charm that will add to the appeal of your interior space, kitchen, dining room or an orangery. At Antique Tables, apart from this stunning example, we have many other fine varieties of tables and seating. We stock large farmhouse tables to small occasional tables and everything in between.
